ONIT Athlete Brings NIL Opportunities to Thousands of Athletes in 2023-24

Boise, ID - ONIT Athlete’s officially-licensed, team-specific trading card sets launched during the 2023-24 academic year featured the name, image and likeness of 4,545 student-athletes, more current collegiate athletes than the published set lists of all other trading card companies combined. ONIT Athlete paid industry-leading royalties to each athlete and provided royalty revenue to each participating university through licensing agreements.

“I am extremely proud of the commitment we have made to live up to our core value of ‘NIL for All,’” said ONIT Athlete CEO Chad McCloud. “We pride ourselves on offering the most holistic NIL opportunity in all of college sports by creating revenue-producing deals for all participating athletes and an affordable entry point for all of their fans, including the next generation of fans and athletes.”

ONIT Athlete produced trading card sets for 111 teams across 40 colleges and universities, including three baseball teams still vying for a national title at the College World Series.

The company’s continued push into women’s sports culminated with the most successful season yet as five ONIT teams reached the Women’s College World Series, including national champion Oklahoma which became the first women’s team trading card set in ONIT Athlete’s two-year history to sell out of its inventory. In total, ONIT Athlete worked with 838 athletes in women’s sports in 2023-24.

The Sooners were not the only ONIT team to claim a national championship. The company also produced team sets for UConn men’s basketball and Ohio State women’s hockey. ONIT worked with 21 teams that reached the final championship site of their respective sport, including three teams in the College Football Playoff and three teams in the Men’s Final Four.

ONIT Athlete is in the running for its own title this year. The company is one of six finalists for Brand of the Year at the 2024 NIL Awards. The winner will be named at the NIL Awards gala ceremony on June 22, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, on the opening night of the 2024 NIL Summit.

The award recognizes creative excellence by a brand or organization for collaboration with a student-athlete. Judges will award the brand that has demonstrated how partnership, creativity and novel activation in NIL can drive exceptional results and engagement.

ONIT Athlete heads into the 2024-25 season with the goals of producing team sets for more than 200 college programs and working with more than 10,000 student-athletes.
